The cord is made out of cotton. The necklace has a loop in one of the ends so you can loop the beads over allowing you to adjust the length from approximately 8" to 9".
The technique used to make this set is called crocheting. It is made from Amazonian seeds found in the Colombian rainforest. The Red seeds when ripe, fall to the ground and are gathered and dried for up to four weeks. The indigenous people of South America use PLATINO ROJO (NAME OF THE SEED) to represent prosperity. In china these seeds represent romance and love. As you look close you can see a red heart inside of another.
